State of Facebook #infographic

In light of the recent changes with Facebook, I wanted to create a graphic that gives some perspective to the growth of Facebook, the weaknesses that were revealed when the company went public, and the initiatives that they are taking to try and appease their shareholders.   I’m hopeful that you see something that you didn’t know about Facebook before.

The one thing I hate about most infographics is how vague people are with their sources.  You’ll note that I have an obnoxiously long list of annotations on the graphic and with links at the bottom of this post.  If you see something that you want to dig into a little deeper, I hope I was thorough enough to make that an easy task.

I should mention that creating this infographic and some of the site changes lately are to promote a change in content next week.  Every day there will be a new featured writer (who is not me) – I’ll still be here, but complemented by some extraordinary voices in social media, technology and life  (I’ve still got some free days if you know anyone looking for an place to contribute).

So thank you for reading and without further delay – “Facebook in three acts:”

I aspire to give people something to think about rather than tell them what to do. My favorite Google Alert is “social media research,” I am increasingly compelled by Gen Z, and I appreciate good writers agnostic of where they write. At one time I was Kred’s 12th most influential social media blogger and Klout’s most influential person on the topic of David Hasselhoff. Transplant from Seattle living in Cincinnati. Haven’t entirely adopted the local sports teams yet.
