In 2023, my daughter will be 14. My hair will be gray and I will be a decade further disconnected than I am now. As an example of my disconnection, I find it astonishing that teens text more than twice as much as they use social networks, that half of teens send 100 or more texts a day, and that bullying is as enabled by mobile phones as it appears to be. Yikes.
I’m curious to know if this is consistent with anyone’s experience? How you think these behaviors might translate into the future of sociability and social media for these digital natives?
