This is an infographic created by leaderswest contributor Janet E. Johnson, and what I love about this is that it presents myriad content ideas for social media and inbound marketing (it is excerpted from her free eBook, Ultimate Guide to Social Media Content Creation).
When we stick to one format or one topic exclusively, we risk reader fatigue. A good example of this was the recent U.S. Presidential campaign where both candidates used different people, different perspectives and different platforms to create content for daily fundraising emails. Many post-mortem analyses point to strength of email lists as a differentiating factor between the campaigns. And they only had to sustain attention for a year, presumably (hopefully) your business will create content well beyond that.
In any event – I’m going to challenge myself in the next week to get out of my comfort zone and use a different format to post to the blog. Many thanks to Janet for the idea!
