Christmas morning came to find a bounty of beautiful new gifts for our kiddos. The kids paid attention to each new gift in kind, playing for the good part of the day non-stop with their new stuff.
But then everything stopped. They started whining to watch a television program. The toys littered the floors of their bedrooms. The most beautiful things in their world hours earlier were no longer interesting to them.
What does that have to do with this infographic? It may be that I’ve seen many of the cited statistics before, or that I don’t see any new insights in it, but it is as beautiful as infographics come. I could stare at it all morning – its symmetrical fonts and animal graphics brandishing information that I’d already seen or that is of nominal value. Is it wrong of me to blissfully admire its beauty without paying too much attention to the ideas contained within? If it works for my kids….
I’m curious to know your thoughts on this one. Was there anything you didn’t know before contained within it? Isn’t this infographic lovely?
